Specialize IT, Inc., a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization was established in 2024 to serve individuals with special needs in the Greater Birmingham. At Specialize IT, we believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to thrive. As a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering parents, educators, and students involved in the special education process, we provide vital training, resources, and advocacy to support students with disabilities.

At Specialize IT, our mission is to provide comprehensive support, guidance, and resources to parents, students, and educators involved in the special education process. We are dedicated to ensuring that students with disabilities receive the appropriate education and services necessary for their academic, social, and emotional success. Through tailored workshops, expert consultations, and advocacy efforts, we strive to empower families and educators, fostering an inclusive environment where every student can thrive. Our commitment is to bridge gaps, remove barriers, and champion the unique needs of each individual in their educational journey.

FOUNDER – CEO
Jennifer Butler is the founder of Specialize IT, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering parents, educators, and students in the special education process. A graduate of Miles College, Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Journalism, as well as a Master’s in Business Administration with a focus on Finance.
With over five years of experience as a high school special education teacher for Birmingham City Schools, Jennifer is passionate about advocating for the rights and needs of students with disabilities. Her commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments drives her work at Specialize IT, where she equips families and educators with the tools and resources they need to support student success.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Jennifer is a devoted mother to her daughter, Marley Grace. Together, they enjoy exploring the community and engaging in educational activities that inspire growth and learning.
